Build community through a regular practice of giving and receiving empathy
This weekly group is open to all experience levels. You are invited to come try it out for a few sessions before deciding if you’d like to join as an ongoing member.
Each Week is a Little Different
1st & 3rd Wednesdays: Skill-Building Workshop
Explore practical NVC skills and deepen your understanding through teaching, discussion, and practice.
2nd Wednesdays: Empathy Breakouts
Practice giving and receiving empathy in small groups.
A facilitated Empathy 101 workshop is available in the main room for those that are new.
4th Wednesdays: Role Plays
Bring your sticky situations for role play or witness others.
Membership
Anyone is welcome to join for 2-3 sessions to see if the group feels like a fit. After that, if you’d like to stay on as an ongoing member, just let us know; we’ll check with the existing members to confirm that there is sufficient capacity.
This is our way of creating a culture of welcome while still growing at the speed of trust. So far, it has worked beautifully. This agreement, like all our group agreements, was co-created by the group itself. Every 3 months, we send out a feedback form to all the ongoing members, so we can keep iterating on our group structure and agreements as the group continues to unfold.
Meet the Facilitator - Zucu Bermann
The group is stewarded and facilitated by Zucu Bermann, with occasional guest facilitators from NVC Santa Cruz and beyond. Zucu is a CNVC Trainer Candidate, Certified Resonant Healing Practitioner, and a member of the NVC Santa Cruz Core Team, with a private practice in trauma healing and relationship repair.
